One great thing about preparing for a wedding it that you can have a dedicated team, First Comes Love, that will be there with you every step of the way. Wedding Dress 101

The Bride to be

You are the ONLY one that will know what dress is meant for you! But, why not learn what styles are best for your figure.

Tips for finding the right dress, based on a spring themed wedding

Typical spring wedding dress styles: halter, empire waist with spaghetti straps, lacy long sleeves & sleeveless.

Consider length: If the wedding is outside you might not want a train if it will be drug across the ground.

Color: Aside from the traditional, white, there are other colors that are becoming more of the “norm” beige, cream, ivory & even pastel colors.

Pear shape: dress with a skirt that flares out gradually from your natural waste line. Look for stronger fabrics (taffeta or duchesse satin) that wont stretch or cling to the body. Spaghetti straps or V will also make the upper body look slender.

Apple shape: similar to pear shapes, find a dress with a detailed bodice that will create a corset effect around the midsection.

Plus size: empire waste, gradual A-line, however; avoid A-line right beneath the bust line, it give off the maternity clothes look.

Tall: simple lines, lower waist line and a floor length hem will accent your long proportions.

Petite: simple, trumpet, sheath, or modified A-line dress, avoid large bows or bold details.

Large bust: scooped or sweetheart neckline

Small bust: a ruched top will enhance and fill the bust line, halter styles are also good.

The dresses worn by the bridesmaids should feature the signature wedding colors. Chose a color and let each bridesmaid pick out a different hue. If you want to go in a different direction, chose bolder colors such as, turquoise, fuchsia & mango. Avoid satin shoes because they don’t always hold up in springtime showers.

Tan suits, colored shirts & ties. If you are going for a more formal look, a basic tux always works!
