It’s Emily and Ricardo’s Wedding Day!!!

18 Jun

Emily and Ricardo are about as cute of a couple as can be.  He’s from Brazil, she’s from California and today, in the walled garden at San Diego Botanic Garden they will be married.  The couple will use the natural beauty of the gardens paired with a very fun upscale BBQ theme to create an “only in San Diego” affair for their guests, many who have traveled from Rio to celebrate this special occasion.  Many, many congratulations to Emily and Ricardo!!!!

A special thank you to Photography by Anjuli for sharing their engagement photos.

It’s Amy and Brian’s Wedding Day!!!

4 Jun

Amy and Brian are getting married today, at the intimate and beautiful Thursday Club in Point Loma. Overlooking the water, this amazing couple will exchange vows followed by a quintessentially San Diego reception with family and friends.  Since most of their guests are from out-of-town, we’ve worked with the couple to incorporate elements of San Diego that they love to personalize their wedding.  From escorting their guests to the venue in an Old Town Trolley to serving local craft beers this celebration is going to be fabulous.

We are in love with the vendors we get to work with on this wedding too! Ceremonies by Bethel will be marrying them, Photos by Chana and Don will be capturing the day, Coast Catering will be serving delectable delights, Concepts Event Design and Classic Party Rentals will make the space pop, Sumi’s Oven is creating cakes for each table, Blush Botanicals is providing beautiful flowers, Pete Goslow will be serenading the crowd and AC Makeup will be highlighting the beauty of the bridal party.  And of course, the ladies of First Comes Love will be there to bring everything together.

CONGRATULATIONS AMY AND BRIAN and thank you for including us in your big day!

A special thank you to Photos by Chana and Don for sharing their engagement pictures.

Color Inspiration: Orange

9 Jun

An open letter to sunscreen, poolside bellinis, and grilled peaches…

San Diego weddings will pop with the use of orange

…globe lights, tea lights, paper lanterns, and twinkling stars.

Using orange can add a cheey touch to any San Diego wedding

Of the many wonderful things that remind us of summer’s warm glow–shades of orange are among some of our very favorites. With soft, muted tones punctuated by bright pops of this delectable color, you simply cannot go wrong. Gracing nearly all the magazine covers at one point or another this spring and summer, orange is cheerful and sophisticated. It represents laughter and celebration, and can be laid back or incredibly glamorous. And as the complimentary color to blue and an edgy hit to green, it’s the perfect color to accentuate any outdoor event–from picnics and pool parties to evening soirees and weddings. Think it might be a bit too much for you? Try using the color in small doses. A deliciously tangerine-tinted signature cocktail or some burnt-orange paper lanterns will do the trick!
